Virtual Primary Care makes accessing care easy, so you're able to get care when you need it from wherever you are in New Mexico. You can establish and build a relationship with a virtual provider, just as you would in person.

What can I use Virtual Primary Care for?
Preventive and general care to help with your long-term health
Diagnosis and management of chronic conditions
Medication management and review
Prescription orders and refills, including birth control
Lab and radiology orders
Referrals to specialists and in-person primary care, when necessary
What should I expect with a Virtual Primary Care appointment?
You will need to sign in to your MyChart account. If you do not have a MyChart account, you will need to create one.
Within MyChart, select Virtual Primary Care and follow the steps. You will be able to search and select appointment options and test your smart phone or other device.
Once your appointment is scheduled, you will be emailed an appointment confirmation and instructions.
You must complete eCheck-In before your appointment to enable the Join Video link.
You will receive appointment reminders about your upcoming visit. A few minutes before your appointment, log into MyChart and find your appointment. Select the Join Video link. Joining the video places you in a virtual waiting room. Wait for your provider to enter.
Your After Visit Summary will be available in MyChart following your appointment.
Virtual Primary Care uses Presbyterian Medical Group care team members.

Presbyterian Virtual Primary Care accepts most major insurance. Charges related to telehealth services are determined by your insurance plan. Please check with your health insurer if you have any questions.

What are the computer requirements?
For a video appointment, you will need a device that has a camera and audio capabilities. This can include a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
How can I test my device?

What if I have technical issues?

When should I not use Virtual Primary Care?
For children under the age of 18
If you need to be prescribed a controlled substance
For evaluation and management of severe, uncontrolled conditions (specialists will be involved)
For pneumonia with fever, cough, irregular heartbeat, unexplained fever or mild abdominal pain, and male genitourinary symptoms (Urgent Care is recommended)
For serious and severe conditions, such as stroke symptoms, severe abdominal, back, or headache pain, uncontrolled vomiting, kidney stones, major cuts, suicidal thoughts, and sudden change in mental state (Emergency Care is recommended)
What if I am not able to be treated by video?
If you believe your condition will require a physical exam, we recommend that you schedule an in-person appointment.
If our virtual provider determines that you should come in to be seen, we’ll help you schedule an in-person appointment, so you get care as soon as possible.
What if I need labs or X-rays?
We offer walk-in X-ray services in many of our Presbyterian Medical Group clinic locations. TriCore Reference Laboratories also provides blood collection and specimen collection services in many locations throughout the Albuquerque / Rio Rancho metro area, including in several of our clinics. The provider will help you identify a location close to you.
Can I use Virtual Primary Care for a dependent?
Yes, you can, for adults age 18+. You will need to set up proxy access via MyChart. How to Request Proxy Access
Can I use virtual if I am not in New Mexico?
If you are currently traveling or living outside of the state, our providers will be unable to treat you during a video appointment. At this time, our providers are only licensed to practice medicine in New Mexico.
Is the virtual appointment covered by my insurance?
Your responsibility, if any, for charges related to telehealth services is determined by your insurance plan. Please check with your health insurer if you have any questions.
