The Girl Scouts are retiring a fan-favorite cookie in 2024 (2024)

Just a year after the Raspberry Rally’s chaotic debut, the Girl Scouts announced they will discontinue the popular cookie.

What is a Raspberry Rally?

Raspberry Rally cookies were released last year as a “sister” cookie to Thin Mints. Instead of the creamy, minty flavor, Rallys had a sweet raspberry filling with the same chocolate coating as the popular Thin Mints.

The Girl Scouts released the new flavor exclusively online as part of a pilot program to “enhancing girls’ e-commerce sales and entrepreneurial skills,” the Girls Scouts of the USAannounced last year.

“Last year, Raspberry Rally cookies were introduced as part of a pilot online-only sales strategy,” a Girl Scouts spokesperson told Today. “This was a fun and new way to teach girls omnichannel business skills and expand our cookie portfolio by introducing an exciting new flavor profile to the Girl Scout Cookie Program.”

Raspberry Rallys have been officially discontinued

Following wild third-party sales sparked by the cookies’ release, Rallys will not be sold in the upcoming Girl Scout cookie season — which runs from January to April 2024 — the Girl Scouts of the USA announced on Thursday.

“While Raspberry Rally was extremely popular last year, we are taking a pause this season to prioritize supplying our classic varieties,” the Girl Scouts of the USA said in a statement to CNN.

Last year, the Raspberry Rally was a massive hit. Just hours after the cookie debuted, it sold out online, sparking a frenzy of online sales — Rallys are still going for up to $350 on eBay.

“When cookies are purchased through a third-party seller, Girl Scout troops are deprived of proceeds that fund critical programming throughout the year,” the Girl Scouts told CNN. “Girl Scouts of the USA, your local Girl Scout council, and our licensed cookie bakers cannot guarantee the freshness or integrity of cookies bought through unauthorized sites.”

What cookie flavors will the Girl Scouts sell in 2024?

The Girl Scouts of the USA will focus on selling tried-and-true flavors this year, including Thins Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Adventurefuls, Lemonades and Girl Scout S’mores.
